Systems to maintain and improve BCM

DISCO is developing a management system based on our BS25999-2:2007 certification in order to maintain and continuously improve BCM. DISCO obtained certification under the BS25999-22007 Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) Standard on December 17, 2008. DISCO has thus become the first business in the Japanese semiconductor industry to earn this certification (according to the certification institute, SGS Japan).

What is BCMS?

BCMS is an abbreviation for Business Continuity Management System. It is a system to maintain and continuously improve BCM.
DISCO has established and is operating BCMS in order to realize two purposes-"to be a company with whom customers feel confident doing business" and "to be a company where employees feel confident working".

What is BS25999-2:2007?

BS25999-22007 is a standard written by BSI to ensure business continuity management (BCM). Its objective is to enable businesses to continue and quickly recover should a latent threat to an enterprise’s business continuity (such as natural disasters, e.g., earthquakes or typhoons, as well as outbreaks of new strains of influenza or other infectious disease, acts of terrorism, or system failures) become a reality.

Scope of certificate registration	:	Production and supply of precision processing tools (dicing blades, grinding wheels, dry polishing wheels)
		- Because precision processing tools are frequently-replaced consumables, any stoppage in their supply would have a major impact on production at customer factories. Therefore, these product items were chosen for the initial range of application. In the future, we plan to expand the range of our BCMS compliance by degrees and steadily increase our level of business continuity.
