Large-scale and powerful Typhoon No.18 hit Nagasaki-City in Kyushu in the morning of September 7, and is presently heading toward the northeast along the Shimane Prefecture coast of the Japan Sea. The details of the typhoon and its effect to DISCO as well as our production arrangements in response are as follows.

Typhoon No. 18
According to the news media, as Typhoon No.18 approached, the northern part of Kyushu Region, All Shikoku and Chugoku, and later a part of Kinki Region consecutively entered the storm zone. Typhoon is bringing a record strong windstorm to many cities of these regions. In Hiroshima-City neighboring our Hiroshima Plant, a record maximum wind speed of 60.2 m/second was registered.

Impact to DISCO and our response
As the typhoon approached, all the employees of our Kure Plant, Kuwabata Plant and Nagatani Plant were instructed to leave at 13:00 pm in order to ensure safety.
No inconvenience or delay in supply will be caused to the customers, as all the shipment of precision diamond blades for today has already been taken care of in the morning, and necessary arrangements for production will be made to cover today's production lot.

Our situation is as stated above.
We would like to express our sincere sympathies to those who were affected by the Typhoon 18.
