DISCO’s response to the anticipated power shortages during summer 2012
As of May 2012, all nuclear power plants in Japan have been shut down in response to the events following the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011.
DISCO has completed plans to minimize the impact of potential power shortages, details of which are outlined below.

||As of May 2012, Chugoku Electric Power has not enacted power saving measures. However, DISCO has completed a 28-item plan, which includes turning off unnecessary lighting and identifying facilities where power saving measures can be implemented.

DISCO has a policy of sourcing from multiple suppliers as well as procuring materials and parts in advance.
Furthermore, the following measures have also been implemented with the cooperation of our suppliers:
-Plans to assure continuous production by setting up backup production facilities.
-Plans for staggered working hours and shifts outside of the normal working schedule.
-Installing an electricity demand control system to manage the power supply during peak periods.
Part and raw material procurement for production of precision diamond products (consumable blades and wheels)
DISCO maintains a constant replenishing 6-month supply of raw materials.
