DISCO Corporation Receives
Intel's Prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award

Tokyo, Japan, March 22, 2004 -- DISCO Corporation was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s prestigious 2003 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award, Intel’s highest honor for its suppliers, for outstanding commitment to quality and performance by suppliers that provide products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company was given the award for its efforts in supplying Intel with ultra-thin solutions for silicon. DISCO and 15 additional SCQI award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, Calif., on March 23.

“We are proud and grateful to receive this prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year. Intel's SCQI Award is a benchmark measure of supplier performance, and we consider this year's SCQI Award to be a significant milestone as we strive to provide the best solutions possible to the industry. Intel supports its high expectations with both personal involvement and a full range of resources that enable a win/win partnership,” said Hitoshi Mizorogi, President and Chief Operating Officer of DISCO Corporation.

“DISCO continues to exceed our very high expectations. Through their unwavering support and flawless execution, DISCO consistently serves as a role model for other assembly suppliers. DISCO was a key enabler for Intel’s ultra-thin silicon technology, which provides solutions for Intel’s wireless products. For their overall operational excellence, DISCO earned the SCQI award for the fourth consecutive year,” said Fred Rezaei, Development Manager for Intel Assembly Capital Equipment.

The SCQI awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals.
