Dual Spindle Application

Dual cutting Step cut Bevel cut
The simultaneous use of two spindles to perform cutting. This method offers high throughput. Both the step cut and the bevel cut are performed with two spindles, each of which is fitted with a different blade. In the step cut, first a wider blade grooves the workpiece; then a thinner blade cuts all the way through. The step cut can have the benefit of reduced backside chipping. In the bevel cut, first a V-shaped blade grooves the workpiece; then a thin, straight blade cuts all the way through. This cut imparts to each die a special bevel shape, which can result in increased die strength.
